Thankful Thursday

Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 5.25.17 PM.png Happy Thursday, y'all!

These past few weeks, I've had the pleasure of having longer weekends than usual. With the holidays, I've had an extra day tacked on to Saturday and Sunday to rest, get refreshed, and unwind.

It's been great. And needed.

I come to find that we push ourselves a little too hard here. In San Francisco. And well, everywhere really.

We want to do all the things, see all the people, and never get left out of the "club" that I sometimes call San Francisco. If you haven't been here, it's small. 7x7 square miles to be exact.

And when it's that small, well...you're bound to run into people. Often. Whether you like it or not, I assure you that you'll run into people you love, hate, or want to forget. But don't push yourself too hard on trying to achieve the last one. Trust me, I've tried.

Over the last several weeks, I've been trying to slow down. Make each moment count and speak with intention. I find it increasingly hard, you know? Life goes a thousand miles a minute and for someone who likes to talk, it sometimes feels like a hundred thousand.

So as a continuous life experiment, I'm going to challenge myself to be alone and find some time to just be quiet. For those who know me, it definitely will be a challenge and right now seems a bit uh, daunting.

However, I consider this little blog of mine a source for accountability. And with that, I can look back and re-read these posts and remember to practice what I preach.

As we ease into the weekend (slowly but surely), I encourage you, too, to slow down. Walk up and down Haight Street, take pictures of stuff that inspires you (evidence above), discover new things about your city that you haven't experienced before.

Cheers!
