Happy Tuesday! Hope you've made it through Monday unscathed. The last few months have been a wild ride in my life. I shared this a few months ago, but I had a pretty big career shake up in August and had to be faced with the fact that my worth was not tied to my profession or title. This was a very hard lesson to learn.

I was confused, angry, scared, sad and hopeful all at the same time. Those are a lot of emotions, right? Right. Well, during that time I was so, so thankful to have supportive friends and family to remind me about life's priorities and things that keep me happy.

Fast forward six or so months and I've made it out of that little life rut happier and healthier and with a hell of a lot more perspective. I started a new job that I really enjoy, met someone who supports me and loves me like no other, friends that encourage me to be a better person, and have written for several publications about things I love – food and San Francisco! It's awesome. And while it's awesome (very awesome), it can be a little stressful sometimes.

How the hell do I juggle that many things? Well, it's hard. And sometimes stressful. Lately, I've had to pick my priorities. Can I skip XYZ event or postpone an article I wanted to write until next month? While it kills me to say no, it's healthy and helps me keep sane. Well, almost sane. :)

I'm constantly trying to stay mindful, be in the present, and stay calm on a daily (almost hourly, let's be fo' real) basis. That being said, I'm always looking for ways to help me maintain grace, thoughtfulness, clarity and joy.

I was recently introduced to Calm – a popular meditation app and mindfulness book that is encouraging people everywhere to slow down, take a break from stress and distractions and indulge in a moment of calm. Luckily, today is International Calm Day and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share Calm (and my) story.

This app (and book) is such a helpful guide on how to rediscover your pause button. The book and app shows you how to to take back a little bit of peace, space and all-important calm in your life.

For International Calm Day, Calm is launching a new guided meditation called "7 Days of Anxiety" to help the pressures and chaos of modern day life. We all know what this is: muni delays, endless emails filling the inbox, and arguing with parents, roommates or significant others.

I urge you to take a moment today on International Calm Day (and every day) to find a moment of tranquility and peace. Whether it's going outside for a walk during work or attending a early morning yoga class, find what works for you. I promise that your mind, body, and soul will thank you.

If you're interested in Calm, receive 25% off a year-long subscription to the app. I'll also be doing a giveaway over on my Instagram for a free copy of Calm's amazing book!

Cheers!
